The Connecticut Association of Public School Superintendents (CAPSS) named听Diane Ullman听(EdD鈥�86) Superintendent of the Year for her strong leadership and numerous contributions to the schools in her district. She also serves as adjunct professor at the Neag School of Education at the University of Connecticut. She leads the CAPSS program for early career superintendents, is a member of the association鈥檚 board of directors and serves as chairperson of the Hartford Area Superintendents Association. She was nominated for the national superintendent of the year and lives in Simsbury, Conn.

Residential realtor听Jeanette Meyer听(MBA鈥�87) contributed $750 to local and national charities in 2011 through her client-directed donations program 鈥淢ake a Difference.鈥� Her clients choose from five selected charities, and she makes a donation on their behalf. Jeanette lives in Fort Collins, Colo.

She is author of 16 books, including her cookbook听Ying鈥檚 Best One-Dish Meals听(Sellers Publishing ). She is a spokesperson for Nestle Maggi and Celestial Seasonings and lives in Lafayette, Calif.

After 18 years听David Elowe听(Econ鈥�90, MBA鈥�93) has relocated to Boulder to work on a real estate high-rise development project in Denver with his company Urban West Group.

Named after听David Steinmann听(Phys鈥�90), a new species of pseudoscorpion was discovered in a cavern in Glenwood Springs, Colo. It has venom-tipped pincers and is camouflaged to blend in with cave walls. David is a zoology department associate at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. An avid caver he has discovered more than a hundred new invertebrate species in Colorado caves.

BlueCross BlueShield of western New York appointed听Jeffrey Martin听(MBA鈥�91) vice president of underwriting. He lives in Lake View, N.Y.

Last winter听Angela Reed听(Psych, Thtr鈥�91) performed in Denver in the world premiere of the drama听罢丑别听Whale听at the Ricketson Theatre. She also traveled for two years in the Broadway tour of听Spring Awakening, and she and her husband both appeared in the national Broadway tour of听War Horse听in April. They live in New York City.

Lawyer听Erika Anderson听(Psych鈥�92) is 2012 vice president of the Board Bar of Commissioners, the governing board of the State Bar in Albuquerque. She is a partner at Park & Anderson, specializing in civil litigation involving liability, civil rights, personal injury and employment litigation. She previously worked as a counselor for adolescents and their families.

Forensic scientist听Peter Stout听(EPOBio鈥�92, PhD鈥�99) has been appointed to serve a four-year term on the North Carolina Forensic Science Advisory Board. The board advises the lab director and staff at the North Carolina State Crime Laboratory on ways they can strengthen the state forensic laboratory system to solve crimes and provide improved service to the criminal justice system. Peter has 15 years of experience in forensic urine drug testing, postmortem toxicology and human performance testing laboratories.

Serving a three-year term on the Food and Drug Law Institute鈥檚 board of directors,听Frederick Ball* (PolSci鈥�93) also is a partner at the Chicago office of Duane Morris and vice chair of the White-Collar Criminal Defense division of the firm鈥檚 trial practice group. He is an adjunct professor of law at the DePaul University College of Law.

As president of Illegal Pete鈥檚,听Peter Turner听(Engl鈥�93) hopes to someday expand his burrito restaurant to other states. He told the听Huffington Post听that he is looking into cities that are similar to Boulder and Denver. He opened the first location in Boulder in 1995 before expanding to Denver and is looking into the possibility of opening a store in Fort Collins, Colo. He lives in Denver.

After founding her own firm to focus on real estate law,听Amy Eisenhuth Brimah听(PolSci鈥�94, Law鈥�00) joined the firm Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck as counsel in the real estate department. She focuses on finance, lending, commercial real estate transactions and development projects. The Denver resident is a board member of the Denver Children鈥檚 Advocacy Center, an organization she has been involved with for more than a decade.

For 14 years听Brandon Dwight听(Kines鈥�95) has competed in the USA Cycling鈥檚 cyclocross national championships. He is co-owner of Boulder Cycle Sport and is an advocate for bringing the race to Boulder鈥檚 Valmont Bike Park for 2014-15.

Bicycling has turned into a career for听Taro Smith听(Kines鈥�96, MS鈥�98, PhD鈥�04). He is co-owner of Boulder Cycle Sport, which has two locations in Boulder. 鈥淐ycling is a core of the city,鈥� he told the Boulder听Camera. He lives in Boulder.

Attorney听John Dorsey听(IntlAf, Span鈥�97) was promoted to partner at the firm Strasburger & Price in Dallas. He works with companies at all stages of development as well as private equity funds and banks. He is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese and often handles transactions involving assets located in Central and South America.

Reporting with the MLB network in New Jersey,听Alanna Rizzo-Kole听(IntlBus鈥�97, MJour鈥�03) is a studio reporter. Before joining the network, she worked for听ROOT Sports听in Colorado where she won three regional Emmy awards. She served as co-host for the听Colorado Rockies All Access, did Rockies telecasts, was a sideline reporter for CU basketball, University of Denver basketball and hockey and for high school football games.

The Denver office of national law firm Wilson Elser hired听Scott Sweeney听(Law鈥�97) as counsel. He also joined the firm鈥檚 practice in Latin America where he uses the skills he acquired while living in Argentina in the early 1990s. The Aurora, Colo., resident has 14 years of experience practicing law and is a member of several bar associations.

Avid mountaineer听Peter Beal听(MArt鈥�98) wrote听Bouldering: Movement, Tactics and Problem-Solving听(Mountaineers Books). He has climbed for more than 30 years with a strong focus on bouldering. He also teaches art history at Front Range Community College and lives in Boulder.
