CU’s Mike MacIntyre Named AP Coach of the Year
CU head football coach Mike MacIntyre is the . He received the honor on Dec. 15, along with the FWAA/Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year award by the Football Writers Association of America.
In early December, MacIntyre was named the , college football's top coaching award, and received the Pac-12 Coach of the Year designation at the end of the regular season.
At the start of the 2016 season, the Buffs were expected to finish last in the Pac-12. Instead, they finished 8-1 in the conference — reversing their 2015 performance of 1-8 — and won the South Division. The team fell to the Washington Huskies in the Pac-12 Championship Game Dec. 2.
This is MacIntyre’s fourth season as CU’s head coach. He will lead the Buffs — ranked No. 11 in the country — in their first bowl game appearance in a decade versus No. 13 Oklahoma State at the in San Antonio, Texas, Dec. 29.
