Two members of the CU men’s basketball team — sophomore Alec Burks and senior Cory Higgins — were among the 50 players named to the preseason list for the John R. Wooden Award, college basketball’s top individual honor.
Only five other schools in the country had at least two players on the Wooden list. Burks was last season’s Big 12 Freshman of the Year, while Higgins is among the top 10 scorers in CU men’s basketball history.
Burks and Higgins join Donnie Boyce (A&S ex’94), Chauncey Billups (Soc ex’95) and David Harrison (Hist’03) as CU players who have made the Wooden preseason list.
