During the day, CMCI’sÌýMedia Archaeology LabÌý²¹²Ô»åÌýImmersive Media LabÌýwill be open for tours.

  • The —which is, as far as we know, the largest of its kind in North America—is a place for hands-on, cross-disciplinary experimental research, teaching and artistic practice using still-functioning but obsolete tools, software, hardware, platforms from the late nineteenth century through the twenty first century. ÌýMAL currently houses over 35 portables/laptops, 73 desktop computers, 22 handheld devices, eight other computing devices, and 10 game consoles.ÌýTours will be offered from noon to 3 p.m.
  • The Immersive Media Lab features a teaching/presentation area and four technology workstations. Each station includes hardware and software for creating and showcasing virtual reality, augmented reality and 360-degree experiences. Explore virtual reality from 2 to 4:30Ìýp.m.
