Ecology and Evolutionary Biology

My research interests lie generally in macroecology, which was the focus of my first rotation project in Dr. Christy McCain’s lab. ÌýI helped with small mammal fieldwork, and worked with a simulation of the detection of ecological patterns in the face of naturally stochastic populations.ÌýMy second and third rotations are focused on macroevolution in Dr. Carl Simpson’s lab and in modeling complex biological systems in Dr. Orit Peleg’s lab, respectively. ÌýThe flexibility of research possibilities provided by the IQ Biology program is invaluable for self-exploration as well as for gaining a wider-ranging training in the sciences, which will only benefit my future research career.

Grant received a BA degree from Concordia College and majored in Biology and Mathematics. He is rostered in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and is advised by Dr. Christy McCain.
