Certificate Requirements

This programÌýcreates a pathway for working professionals with diverse backgrounds and expertise from around the world to build their skills in Global Engineering
Ìýwithout the cost and complexity of full-time attendance in Boulder.

Certificate Requirements

Students earn the certificate by satisfactorily completing 12 credit-hours of graduate-level courses with a grade of B- or higher in each course or module. These requirements are met through our core courses (6 credit-hours total) and a combination of 1 credit-hour modules (6 credit-hours total).Ìý​Up to 9 credit-hours completed as part of the online certificate can be used to complete ourÌýProfessional Master’s degree in Global Engineering.

Admission Requirements

  • Completion of a bachelor’s degree in any field, subject to approval by the Mortenson Center

  • English Language Proficiency*Ìý

*International applicants must provide a TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo score if English is not your native language. The English proficiency requirement will be waived if you have completed at least one semesterÌýof full-time study at an institution inÌýwhere English is the language of instruction orÌýfull-time work experience where English is the offical languageÌýat the time you apply, and within two years from your desired admission term. Your transcripts or a letter from the university/employerÌýare used to confirm this. Non-native English speakers should only provide certification of adequately spoken and written English. Preferred scores for each English proficiency exam are: TOEFL= 90 (only internet-based tests accepted) or IELTS = 7.0 or Duolingo = 115
