Catalog Description
Examines music and social elements, rules, and concepts that musicians use to structure and synthesize musical sound, with emphasis on music practices and pedagogies from a variety of world traditions; observing shared principles and making cross-cultural comparisons and investigating a shared (not universal) discourse as well as resources for a new pedagogy that supports the substantive study of global musics. Same as MUSC 4168. Requisites: Restricted to College of Music (MUSC) graduate students only.
