CAS Publication, "Publishing the Stage," receives positive reviews

In March 2011, CU-Boulder hosted a conference entitled "Publishing the Stage: Print and Performance in Early Modern Japan." The Center for Asian Studies was a proud sponsor of the conference, and helped convert conference papers into chapters of a book of the same name. Recently, the Journal of Japanese Studies credited this collection as a "Publications of Note" and it received an encouraging book review in Japanese Language and Literature. Please see below for an excerpt from this book review:

"Publishing the Stage, an engaging study of the early-modern history of Japanese theater in the context of commercial publishing, is a considerable contribution to Japanese studies. This volume, with its border crossing and inclusion of several essays treating the Kamigata region, is heartily applauded by this reviewer."

CAS is proud to offer access to this publication, free of charge. A select number of physical copies of this publication still remain; we also offer PDF files of individual chapters on our website. For more information, please see http://www.colorado.edu/cas/event-publications.
