It’s a special opportunity to kick-start relationships and become part of a powerful network at Leeds, before classes even start!

Ellen Balaguer established theÌýMel and Marcy Balaguer ScholarshipÌýthat gives economically and socially disadvantaged students the opportunity to get a high-quality business education. In addition, she has provided funding for programming and activities in support of diverse graduate students, including our event, Transforming Business: Connecting Diverse Scholars.
EllenÌýnamed the scholarshipÌýfor her parents whoÌýendured hardships and sacrifices to send herÌý(and her brothers)Ìýto college. Now,Ìýshe hopes to give the same opportunity to others. In 2023, Ellen was named anÌýInfluential Leader by AACSB International, a testament to her track record ofÌýcreatingÌýpositive impact through leadership that is compassionate, curious and resilient, with a focus on purpose, people and planet.Ìý
