Dr. Tim Rodgers joined Leeds as a faculty instructor at Leeds in January 2015. His teaching assignments have included graduate and undergraduate courses in project management, international operations, operations management, and supply chain management. He has also taught the Capstone course (MBAC6052) for the Leeds Evening MBA program since 2015, and the BCOR Applied Semester Experience (BASE2104) course for the last two years.
Before joining the faculty at Leeds, Dr. Rodgers worked in a variety of senior positions in operations and supply chain management at both multinational corporations and mid-sized companies.
At Hewlett-Packard in the early 1990s, Dr. Rodgers helped to create a design for manufacturability program for printed circuit assemblies; and established strategic partnerships with Intel and IBM to enable rapid development of new ASIC packaging technology. He later developed and implemented a supplier quality audit program for inkjet printers; and created and managed an international outsourcing program for software development, quality engineering and testing to support new product development for multiple divisions. Dr. Rodgers helped to create a program management, operations engineering, and new product introduction department at Foxconn in Shenzhen, China from 2009-2011 to support a new division created to manufacture inkjet printers. This included hiring and training a multi-site team in China, Taiwan, and Singapore that helped the division exceed customer goals for cost-of-quality and time-to-market.
Dr. Rodgers received a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of California (Santa Cruz) and an MBA from the University of Oregon. He became a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) in 2012 and a Six Sigma Black Belt in 2013. He is the host of the which features discussions with industry leaders in quality and reliability engineering.
