When COVID-19 first hit, Madisen Medina decided to take a gap year with AmeriCorps, earning a gold-level Congressional Award for her 1,500+ hours of community service. She also gained a passion for business, and the Social Responsibility and Sustainability Track through the Management and Entrepreneurship emphasis attracted her to Leeds. With the comprehensive knowledge she has gained, she feels ready to embark on a career that creates practices for change toward a more sustainable future for all. She believes classes like Sustainable Operations and Leading Diverse Organizations, along with various connections and networking opportunities, have set her up to stand out and succeed post-graduation.
“Through my work with AmeriCorps, I am proud of the impact I was able to make on individuals who needed it most. Service is a privilege. I am proud of myself for using my position to help others and to create a lifelong passion for doing so.”
