Joel Swanson, ATLAS assistant professor and TYPO Lab director, created听two text pieces made of neon,听鈥淪/HE鈥� and 鈥淭/HERE鈥�. On each piece the "S" and "T" flicker on and off, questioning notions of the solidity of both gender and place.

Both works were fabricated in Italy to show at the Venice Biennale, a prestigious cultural organization in Venice which holds international art exhibitions.听
