Lily Gabriel (pronouns: she/they) is an assistant researcher with a background in robotics, design and sculpture. Learning knitting from her mother, they started knitting and spinning thread as a hobby, slowly expanding their knowledge and learning the history and technique behind many fiber arts. Brought onto the Unstable Design Lab for their research in thermochromic dyes, Lily works under Laura Devendorf and other graduate students in the lab. You can find her either working with how to chemically dye fiber or setting up the loom for weaving.
