David Burlinson earned a PhD in computer science from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and has spent the past nine听years expanding his听love of computer science and computational thinking. His听focus has been on research related to visual encoding, visualization and visual analytics, environmental impact, and pedagogically-sound computer science education. He has听a particular affinity for web application design and responsive, interactive interfaces and visualizations听and has听self-taught up and down the full stack. His听favorite language is JavaScript.听In his "spare time,"听he听enjoys honing his听cooking skills and playing real-time strategy games.
