Through observational, structural, and landscape filmmaking approaches, Cal Young creates portraits of physical locations as they evolve through time. In doing so, he explores how places become containers for memory and emotional states, and how film can be a means of time travel.Ìý
Cal grew up in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Before pursuing his MFA at the Â鶹ÊÓƵ, he received his BA in Film and Media Studies from Washington University in St. Louis and worked in film and TV production in New York.
