Professor Christian Hammons awarded a 2024 Research & Innovation Arts & Humanities Grant from the Research & Innovation Office (RIO). ÌýRIO has dedicated approximately $100,000 this round to fund projects bolstering the arts, humanities and humanistic social sciences. Each proposal was reviewed by faculty who spent considerable time reviewing, scoring and commenting on proposals.ÌýProfessor Hammon'sÌýproject, "Mauna Kea: Where Sky and Land Meet," is an immersive documentary about the contested space of Mauna Kea, the tallest mountain in Hawaii and, by some measures, the world.ÌýÌý
