What it is like to be a patient or health worker in the U.S. health system today? How is medical care distributed in the U.S. and what is the relationship between social and health justice? What even is ‘health’ anyway? Through an anthropological and historical tour of the U.S. health system, this course examines how American cultural values and social inequalities relate to experiences of care and the uneven distribution of health outcomes in America.
