Urmi BhattacheryyaÌý(PhD Cultural Anthropology in Progress), Adi Prakash (PhD Cultural Anthropology in Progress), and AnnaÌýWynfieldÌý(Cultural Anthropology,ÌýPhD Candidate)Ìýawarded Center for Humanities and the Arts (CHA) Summer Fellowship.

Urmi willÌýuse the fellowship to aid her summer fieldwork across three cities in India. The fieldwork is an important component of her original research on marital rape.

Adi will use the funding for his pre-dissertation research studying environmentalism, politics, and language revitalisation among the Lepcha in Sikkim and West Bengal, India. His research brings together a combination of cultural and linguistic anthropology and documentary film to understand the phenomenological underpinnings that inform Lepcha ontology and life.

Anna will use the funnding to continue her dissertation research this summer. Her research explores the role of evidence-based data in experiences of pregnancy in the US.
