Minor in German Studies

Our students become well-rounded critical thinkers who understand German culture, history, literature, art, politics and philosophy, and who apply that knowledge to a range of careers.

The minor in German studies teaches students about the German culture, political institutions and dynamics within the broader European framework. Students gain an interdisciplinary education covering the history of German literature, art, politics and philosophy, as well as foundational knowledge of the German language.

Academic Plan & Requirements

To earn a minor in German studies, students must complete a minimum of 20 credit hours in the minor area.
