Certificate in Global Gender & Sexuality Studies

Our students become well-rounded scholars who understand how individuals and groups from diverse gender, racial, ethnic, national, class and sexual backgrounds interact with the world. They go on to work in fields like government, public health, law, human rights, community development and social work.

The undergraduate certificate in global gender and sexuality studies provides students with an opportunity to study how individuals and groups from diverse gender, racial, ethnic, national, class and sexual backgrounds live in and engage with the world. Students explore how processes of global change affect gender relations locally, nationally and internationally.

Academic Plan & Requirements

The certificate is open to all undergraduate students and is especially fitting for students studying international affairs, political science, history, ethnic studies, geography, English, anthropology, sociology, integrative physiology and environmental studies.

Program requirements include:

  • 18 credit hours of specified coursework in the College of Arts and Sciences is required
  • 12 credit hours must be completed at the upper-division level
  • A minimum of 12 credit hours must be taken on campus or with a CU-sponsored Education Abroad program
