Dear colleagues:
I’m writing to provide an update on the search for the next vice chancellor for student affairs.
In March, I named Austin Jamar “JB” Banks to the post of acting vice chancellor for student affairs, following the spring departure of Akirah Bradley-Armstrong. At that same time, I named Daryl Maeda, dean and vice provost of undergraduate education, to chair the search advisory committee. Since then, I have selected individuals to serve on the committee from nominations I received from faculty and staff, including deans. To assist with the search, I have engaged the executive search firm . My plan is to bring finalists to campus and name a permanent vice chancellor for student affairs in spring 2023.
For this position—which serves on my cabinet and shapes the entire CU Boulder undergraduate experience—I am seeking an experienced, highly motivated, and visionary person who will provide strong leadership for the programs and services that enhance the co-curricular experience for our students and that promote civic engagement and student success. The next VCSA will be expected to take new and exciting steps in helping to build a more diverse, engaged, and empowered community of students at CU Boulder.
The search advisory committee and the announcement for this leadership position is posted here. If you have recommendations for VCSA candidates, please feel free to send them to Dean Maeda.
Sincerely,
Russ
Russ Moore, provost
