Dear Faculty:
As you plan for the spring 2022 semester, please attend to the items below. Some constitute legal requirements, and all relate to avoiding potential difficulties you or your students might face during the academic year.
- The required syllabus statements have been updated to reflect important additions for the spring 2022 semester. Please provide your students with the accessible electronic version after editing to include your specific requirements with regard to religious holidays and reporting absences due to illness or quarantine.
- Please note the Campus Policy on Final Exams, which stipulates that no class session or graded work can be due on Reading Day. Please read the policy, as it contains important information you need to know.
The Academic Affairs website has information regarding important policies, customs, and guidelines to help you successfully navigate the various issues that might arise during the academic term.
Thank you for your time and attention to these matters, best wishes as you complete the fall semester, and happy holidays.
Sincerely,
Daryl Maeda
Dean and Vice Provost of Undergraduate Education
